― Charles Bukowski
August 16, 1920 – March 9, 1994 Rest in Peace to the man whom may have possibly been the love of my life. Had I been around during his lifetime! I remember when I first stumbled upon this magnificent creature; I had never before been so impressed and seduced by a work of literature. It was love at first sight. Charles Bukowski, born as Heinrich Karl Bukowski in Andernach, Germany, to Heinrich Bukowski and Katharina, what blessed parents they are, is a German-born American poet and novelist stole the heart of an all-African-American girl. His work is marked by an importance on the ordinary lives of “poor” Americans, the act of writing, alcohol, relationships with women and the grind of work. My love, Bukowski wrote thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels, ultimately publishing over sixty books, so far I have only read two. I’m a hopeless romantic with my nose stuck somewhere between amongst the work of Charles Bukowski.
